Seller note:

The Wauquiez Pretorien is a French-built beamy bluewater cruiser-racer, designed by Holman & Pye, a British firm.  Nearly half the boat's design weight is contained in its lead ballast keel, which makes it rather stiff and stable (its AVS is a very respectable 124 degrees), and its rakish "wedge-deck" profile give her a distinctive attractive look.
"JURA" compares well to interiors found on more modern 35’ boats. The layout itself is straightforward, with a roomy V-berth forward, followed next by a head to starboard with hanging lockers to port, then a large saloon with two straight settees and a dinette, then a spacious galley to starboard with forward facing nav station to port. Aft to port is a roomy quarterberth stateroom.
The joinery work and general finish quality is excellent. Satin finished teak is used throughout, with teak and holly floors.  The upholstery is tasteful in neutral "Antique Beige Linen" Sunbrella.  She is both engine heated while powering or diesel heated while sailing or at anchor.
Construction quality excellent.  The Pretorien's solid fiberglass hull is laid up with multiple layers of 18-ounce biaxial cloth and is stiffened by six lateral stringers that run the length of the boat and intersect a series of athwartships beams that are also glassed to the hull. Bulkheads are tabbed to both the hull and deck and are firmly anchored in place by lateral tabs that pass through holes in lower portions of the bulkheads and are bonded to the hull on either side.
From John Kretschmer's Blue Water Boats / Sailboats for a Serious Ocean:  Among the all time best cruising boat designers not well known to most American sailors. This boat combines the elements of modern hull form with sound compromises that have served offshore sailors well - skeg hung rudder, fine entry, and seaworthy cockpit. It's one of those boats that's becoming a cult classic, helped no doubt by the popularity of Hal Roth's book, How to Sail Around the World. Roth chose a Pretorien for his last cruising boat.
